Since the early 1970s, Michael Bochmann has made a significant contribution to the world of classical music. His solo playing includes collaborations with Yehudi Menuhin with whom he toured USA and Europe and Nigel Kennedy. He formed the Bochmann Quartet early in his career and made many recordings and BBC broadcasts. He worked with the English String Orchestra for many years, recording Vaughan Williams’ ‘Lark Ascending’ for Nimbus Records. He is a professor of violin at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London and now directs the Orchestra Pro Anima.
He also organises music festivals for both professionals and young people. At the Tower of London, 2000 children from across the capital have performed with his education charity, Water City Music.
